Do you feel overwhelmed when facing your closet and selecting an outfit to wear? Do you waste time trying on multiple outfits before you find one that feels right?
A lot of people struggle with this. And trust me, I’ve been there too. It makes getting ready a daily source of stress...one that we’d rather live without. Can I get an Amen?!
If you’re not a morning person, waking up is challenge enough, let alone facing the daily decision of what to wear. Before I discovered what I’m about to share with you, I faced many mornings of groggily staring at my closet paralyzed as I tried to figure out what I would put on my body. Often, nothing felt quite right, and it was way to early to get creative about which outfits fit the occasion and season, that I didn’t already wear in the last few days.
I’m going to cut to the chase and share my #1 tip for easily choosing the right outfit and saving time every single day.
With this method you can gain back hours in your week that you previously wasted on indecision or trying 3-5 different outfits before settling on one to wear
Personally, I love efficiency and speed. I don’t like complicated or time consuming solutions. So this method is simple and highly effective.
All you need is a smartphone camera and a full-length mirror. On a day when you have done nice hair and makeup, try on all the outfits you can put together-including accessories & shoes-and take full length mirror selfies of yourself in them. Be sure to smile and strike a cute pose for best results. Then review and refine as needed, and put the ones you like into an album on your phone by season. For example, you might save a collection of summer outfits into an album called “Summer 2019”.
I call this a “Look Book.”
When you’re ready to decide on what to wear, simply open and view your seasonal outfit album to see what looks/feels right for the occasion. Personally, I peruse my Look Book while laying in bed, or sometimes while sipping my coffee and slowly waking up.
You can decide what you feel like wearing before you ever approach the dreaded closet. The photos will remind you which accessories and shoes worked with it so you don’t have to struggle recalling the details. Easy-breezy! This is such a time saver. While it requires a bit of time up front, at least once per season, it saves time and eliminates the daily frustration of trying to choose what to wear.
Now let’s take a step back, because for many of you... finding many outfits you LOVE and want to photograph for your look book is the bigger hurdle. That’s what I'm here for! You don’t have to go it alone. I have a 7-step path for you, and guidance to help you get there.
If you are ready to free up time and stride into your days with self-confidence and ease, I invite you to watch my complimentary Million Dollar Look Masterclass where I'll show you the path, the most important elements to consider, and proven results.

Terrific blog, Erin. My Look Book saves me when I need to come up with something quick. And I’ve categorized my Look Book into sections: Work/Play/Travel/Evening. It’s definitely a tool to embrace!
Oooh love that! Thanks for commenting!
I’ve been doing this! And so reading it as a tip from you makes me feel as if I’m on the right track. Thanks.
Well done! It’s such an efficient method for starting the day right.
I forgot to mention too that taking outfit photos and reviewing them later, when I have a more objective perspective, has taught me a lot about what works and what doesn’t. Sometimes, at the time of taking the photo, I want the outfit to work so much that I am blinded to the problems. With time the problems become more obvious.
This is SO TRUE! Mirrors can lie but photographs bring greater clarity & objectivity.
